As of January 1, 2019, there has been an amendment to Assembly Bill 2249 entitled: Governing board elections; beginning date of board member terms, and SEC. 2 of Section 1009 of the Education Code establishing: "The county board of education shall organize at a meeting held in each year by electing one of their number president of the board. The meeting at which the organization is conducted shall be either the first meeting on or after the second Friday in December or the first day in July."
Therefore, the December 11, 2024, board meeting will be rescheduled on December 18, 2024.
