On November 8, 2022, California voters approved Proposition 28: The Arts and Music in Schools Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act. The measure required the state to establish a new, ongoing program supporting arts instruction in schools beginning in 2023–2024. An annual report containing mandated information must be completed prior to July 31, 2024, board approved, submitted to the California Department of Education, and posted to the LEA’s website.
