Summary: The District was awarded four (4) individual grants from the Placer County Air Pollution Control District. Each grant was for $165,000.00 to purchase one (1) low NOx school bus. The four grants together total $660,000.00. The district is planning to purchase four (4) 2024 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner HDX 84 passenger buses totaling $1,035,884.02 The pricing for this bus is based on a formal bid process performed by the Hemet Unified School District and their awarded contract to BusWest on July 16, 2019, with subsequent approvals to extend the contract for up to five, one-year periods with the most recent approval occurring on June 13, 2023. The awarded contract included a clause allowing other districts to receive the same pricing (i.e., a piggyback clause per PCC 20118) expiring June 30, 2024. This resolution establishes the intent of the District to purchase four buses under the pricing structure identified in the Hemet Unified School District Contract. This agreement is for the purchase of four 2024 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner HDX 84 passenger buses. This resolution authorizes the District to:
1) Participate in the Hemet Unified School District pricing contract per Public Contract Code 20118.
2) Purchase four (4) buses through BusWest.
